SUP Touring Overview - 3 Days
Knowledge - Seamanship and decision making knowledge appropriate to SUP touring with a group of peers. Understanding marine weather forecasts, Wilderness navigation with charts and compass, tide / current tables and resources. Camp skills including tarp set-up, cooking and gear familiarization.
Paddling Skills - Forward stroke, sweep strokes, and draw strokes with an emphasis on torso rotation and changing foot positions. Board control. bracing, rudders and draws in forward motion. Introduction to paddling in currents. Skills performed in dynamic conditions including; wind and chop, mild currents.
Rescue Skills - Injured Paddler Recoveries, Towing and Communication. Participants will practice in dynamic conditions (winds and waves and / or mild currents).

Paddle Board Touring Course
Paddle Canada SUP Touring 2
Provides the skills and knowledge for Overnight SUP trips in moderate conditions in moderately exposed environments (Class 2 Waters).
Successful participants will be given the Paddle Canada SUP Touring 2 Certification
A Typical 3 Day Course would Include 1 Day in White Rock and an Overnight Trip in the Gulf Islands
Prerequisites - SUP Day-tripping Skills or Paddle Canada Touring 1 Course
Course Fees Include - Paddle Board and Related Equipment, Camping Fees, Group Equipment (Kitchen Tarps, Stoves, Pots)
Not Included - Personal Camping Equipment, Food, Transportation (Carpooling may be arranged)
